Overview
SAM Broadcaster Pro is long-running radio automation software for Windows from Spacial. It includes its own encoders, so it can stream straight to your CloudRadio station.

Install SAM Broadcaster
- Get the free 14-day trial from Spacial's download page, or buy the software on the SAM Broadcaster Pro page.
- Open the downloaded .exe file to run the setup wizard.
- The setup wizard can install Firebird as the database.
By choosing FireBird, you'll not have to download additional databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MS SQL.
The first look:
Configure the encoder
SAM Broadcaster comes with built-in encoders. Add one for your station:
- Open the Encoders window (in the Window menu) and click the plus button to add an encoder.
- Pick the format: AAC if available, otherwise MP3.
- Click OK.
It launches a new settings window:
- On the Converter tab, set the bitrate. The Live DJ page recommends 256 kbps AAC, or 320 kbps MP3. CloudRadio makes the lower bitrates for your listeners, so send one high-quality stream.
- Then, click the Server Details tab.
You'll need your connection details from Studio. On a CloudRadio One station, they are on the Live DJ page under Manual settings. See Broadcasting Live.
Enter server details
Set the server type to Icecast (Icecast 2) and enter the Server, Port, Mount path, Username (source) and Password from the Live DJ page. CloudRadio One only accepts Icecast input. On a Shoutcast or Icecast hosting radio, match the server type of your radio instead.
Start broadcasting
You'll find creating playlists and importing tracks into SAM easy and intuitive. It's also possible to drag tracks into the queue from your file explorer. Create a playlist by selecting:
- Categories -> Playlist -> Create a New Playlist.
- Right-click your new playlist -> Add -> Add Files..
- Add your playlist to the queue and click Play.
