Schedule a Syndicated Show

2 min read Last updated: October 08, 2026

A subscription airs from a playlist, and the schedule plays playlists. To air a bulletin or a show at a set time, put the subscription in a playlist, then put that playlist on the schedule.

Add the subscription to a playlist

  1. Go to Media Library > Syndication.
  2. Open the subscription's menu and click Add to playlist, then pick the playlist.

You can also open a playlist and add the subscription from the Syndication view of Available tracks. A playlist that holds only the subscription is the simplest way to air it on its own.

Put the playlist on the schedule

  1. Go to Schedule and create an event.
  2. Under Event type, choose Playlist and pick the playlist.
  3. Set the Date and Start. Leave End empty so the playlist plays once and hands back to your usual programming.
  4. Under Schedule, pick how it repeats: for example Weekly with All days for a daily bulletin, or a single day for a weekly show.
  5. Under Transitions, set Start to Soft start.

See Schedule for the other event settings.

Use Soft start

The subscription's status panel says it plainly: in the schedule, use Soft start.

  • Soft start lets the playing song finish, then the event begins. When there is no new version to play, the event has nothing to air and your programming simply continues.
  • Hard start fades out the playing song exactly at the start time. If there is no new version to play, the song is still cut at the start time, and your usual programming carries on from there.

When no new version arrives

Sometimes the provider skips a week, or publishes late. What happens at the scheduled time depends on the subscription's settings:

  • With Play each version once, last week's version already aired, so it is skipped.
  • With Replay until a new version arrives, last week's version plays again, as long as it is within your Maximum age. For a weekly show, that means Any age.
  • A version older than Maximum age is always skipped.

When the version is skipped, nothing from the subscription airs and your station keeps playing its usual programming. The subscription shows Aired, Too old or Not updating so you can see why.
