The schedule lets you program your station hour by hour. Place playlists on a calendar, and CloudRadio follows the programming automatically.
Open the schedule
Go to Schedule in the left sidebar of your station. You'll see a weekly calendar with a 24-hour grid. Switch between Week view (visual calendar) and List view (table of events) using the toggle at the top.
Create an event
Click any empty slot on the calendar, or use the New event button. Fill in:
- Title: A name for this event (up to 160 characters). Appears on the calendar.
- Playlist: Select the playlist to play during this slot.
- Date and time: When the event starts.
- Duration: How long the event runs, in minutes.
- Color: Pick from 10 colors to visually distinguish events on the calendar.
If the scheduled playlist runs out of eligible tracks, CloudRadio falls back to your normal automation chain for the remainder of the slot.
Repeat an event
An event is a one-time occurrence by default. To repeat it, pick an option under Schedule:
- Weekly: repeats every week on the days you select. Click All for every day.
- Every 2 weeks: repeats every other week on the days you select, counted from the event's date.
- Monthly: repeats once a month. The day buttons are hidden, and the choices come from the event's date.
For a monthly event on Friday October 9, the choices are:
- On day 9: the 9th of every month. An event on day 29, 30 or 31 plays on the last day of shorter months.
- On the 2nd Friday: the second Friday of every month.
On the last Friday appears only when the date falls in the last 7 days of its month. There is no "5th Friday" option, because not every month has one: pick a date in the last week and choose the last Friday instead. When you change the date, the choices update to match it.
Optionally set Until to stop the repeats after a date. Without it, the event repeats indefinitely. A line under the options sums up what you picked, for example "Repeats on the 2nd Friday of every month, until Dec 31".
Hard start and soft start
The Start setting controls what happens when an event's start time arrives while a track is playing:
- Hard start: The event begins exactly on time, fading out whatever is playing.
- Soft start: The playing track finishes first, then the event begins. If the playing track (and the one queued after it) runs past the event's whole time slot, the event is skipped that time. Use a hard start for a show that must air at its time.
The End setting works the same way at the end of an event: Soft out lets the playing track finish even if it runs past the end time, and Hard out fades it so the event ends exactly on time.
Live DJ events
A Live DJ event books one of your DJ or Guest DJ members for a show. Choose Live DJ under Event type, pick the DJ, and set an end time: Live DJ events always need one. The DJ connects with their own login during the show. See Scheduled DJ Shows.
Edit or delete an event
Click any event on the calendar to open it. Make changes and save, or click Delete to remove it. Deleting a recurring event removes all future occurrences.
If you open one date of a repeating event and change how it repeats (for example from Weekly to Monthly), the change applies to the whole series, so you are not asked whether to change only this event.
Overlap protection
CloudRadio does not allow overlapping events. If a new event conflicts with an existing one, you will see a warning and the save will be blocked. Adjust the times to resolve the conflict before saving.
Between events
When no event is active, your station returns to weighted rotation if configured, or library shuffle otherwise. A live broadcast (via Studio or Guest DJ input) always takes priority over any scheduled event or fallback, including a scheduled DJ show.
Tips
- You don't need to schedule every hour. Fill your peak times and let weighted rotation handle the rest.
- Color-code events by show or genre for quick visual scanning.
- Use List view to see all events at a glance or delete multiple events.
