Playlists let you group tracks for specific purposes: a morning show, a genre block, a set of jingles, or your station’s core rotation. You can schedule playlists on a calendar, add them to weighted rotation, or use them as backups.
Create a playlist
Go to Playlists in the left sidebar of your station.
Click New playlist and fill in:
- Name: A descriptive label (up to 120 characters). This name appears in the schedule and dashboard.
- Color: Pick a color to identify this playlist in the calendar and playlist list.
Click Create to open the playlist editor.
The playlist editor
The editor has three panels:
Settings (left): Name, color, and playback options (covered below).
Playlist tracks (center): The ordered list of tracks in this playlist. Drag tracks to reorder them. Click the remove button to take a track out.
Available tracks (right): Browse and search your media library. Click a track to add it to the playlist. You can search by title, artist, or tag, and page through results.
Playback options
Sequential vs. randomized
By default, playlists play tracks in the order you arranged them (sequential). Toggle Randomize to shuffle the playlist instead. When randomized, CloudRadio generates a shuffle order so every track plays before any repeats.
Resume
When Resume is enabled, the playlist picks up where it left off the next time it plays. This is useful for scheduled playlists that span multiple time slots. If Resume is off, the playlist restarts from the beginning (or a fresh shuffle) each time.
Fallback level
The fallback level controls whether this playlist participates in weighted rotation during unscheduled time. See Weighted Rotation for details on rotation levels.
Delete a playlist
From the Playlists page, click the menu on any playlist and choose Delete. If the playlist is used in scheduled events, you’ll see a count of affected events before confirming.
