Create a Station

2 min read Last updated: June 22, 2026

This guide walks you through creating a CloudRadio One station. By the end, you’ll have a working station with AutoDJ, HLS streaming, and a legacy Icecast endpoint.

Prerequisites

  • A CloudRadio account. Register here if needed.
  • A billing address and payment method. If either is missing, the creation page will prompt you to add them inline before continuing.

Open the creation page

Go to Stations in the main sidebar, then click Create Station. This takes you to the plan selection page.

Select a plan

You’ll see the available AutoDJ plans:

Plan What it includes
AutoDJ Addon Connects to an existing Shoutcast/Icecast radio. Up to 320 kbps. 150 GB storage.
CloudRadio One Standalone station with HLS adaptive streaming, unlimited listeners, legacy Icecast endpoint. 750 GB storage.
Custom Unlimited outputs (HLS + Shoutcast/Icecast), extended bitrate ladder, priority support. 1,500 GB storage.

Select CloudRadio One to create a standalone station.

Looking for classic Shoutcast/Icecast hosting instead? There’s a link at the bottom of this page that takes you to the Shoutcast/Icecast setup.

Fill in station details

After selecting your plan, the configuration form appears:

  1. Station Name: Enter a name for your station. This appears in your dashboard, players, and stream metadata.
  2. Timezone: Select your station’s timezone. This controls how your schedule and statistics display times.

The order summary on the right shows the monthly cost and a note that your first invoice will be generated on the 1st of next month.

Create the station

Click Create Station. The system provisions your station, which takes a few seconds. You’ll see a progress indicator while this runs.

When provisioning completes, you’re redirected to your new station’s dashboard with a confirmation message.

What happens next

Your station is now live with:

  • An empty media library ready for uploads
  • A default playlist and schedule
  • HLS streaming active at three quality levels (64, 128, 256 kbps AAC)
  • A legacy Icecast endpoint at 128 kbps MP3
  • Live DJ inputs available for live broadcasting

Suggested next steps

  1. Upload music: Go to Media Library in the left sidebar and upload your first tracks.
  2. Create playlists: Go to Playlists to organize your music into rotation groups.
  3. Set a schedule: Go to Schedule to program when different playlists play.
  4. Customize your player: Go to Players to configure your embeddable web player.
  5. Go live: Go to Live DJ to get connection credentials for live broadcasting.
