The tagline is a one-line description of your station: what you play and who it's for. Directories and link previews show it next to your station name.
The Tagline field is on CloudRadio One stations. Shoutcast and Icecast hosting radios have a single description instead.
Set your tagline
- Go to Profile & Branding in the left sidebar of your station.
- On the Profile tab, fill in Tagline in the Station profile card.
- Click Save profile.
The tagline can be up to 280 characters, but one short line works best.
Where it appears
- Station page: the tagline is the description of your station page. It shows in the link preview when you share the page on social media or in a message.
- Icecast directory: when your station is listed in the Icecast directory, the tagline is its description. Without a tagline, the Full description (optional) is used.
- Directories page: each recommended directory you submit to yourself lists what it will ask for. When that includes a Description, the row holds your tagline, with a copy button. When the tagline is empty, the row says Not set with a link to add it in Profile & Branding.
Write a good tagline
Be specific about what makes your station different. "Commercial-free jazz from Montreal, all night long" tells a listener more than "The best of everything, all day long". Name the genre, the place or the audience.
